This afternoon, Puerto Rico had their second victory in the Copa Jenaro Tuto Marchand to overcome Canada, 74-63.
On the second day in the friendly tournament held in the city of Foz de Iguazú (southeastern Brazil), the Puerto Rican team dominated their opponent, beating them in double figures . On Wednesday they beat the Dominican Republic, 99-77.
Jose Juan Barea led the team with 24 points, four rebounds and five assists.
In the game, guard Carlos Arroyo barely saw action and was seen on the bench covered with towels and visibly unwell. As reported by the newspaper El Nuevo Dia via twitter, Arroyo apparently ingested a food that made him feel awkward.
The game against Canada, also saw the debut of Daniel Santiago, Andres Rodriguez and John Holland, who arrived in Brazil today, after their passports were lost, which prevented them from making the trip last weekend.
Renaldo Balkman, who also arrived in Brazil today, did not play.
The Puerto Ricans play tomorrow, Friday, against Brazil at 8:00 pm.
